National Gathering 2024

Exciting news! From 15-17 November 2024, we are hosting our second National Gathering at Ngatiawa River Monastery!

We have officially closed off registrations, however if you are really keen to come, we still have spaces available on Sunday for $40, and also may be able to find a spot for you if you really wanted to come for the whole weekend. Please email us on events@commongrace.nz, and we'll see if we can make a way for you to join.

Whether you're a veteran activist keen to connect with others of Christian faith, or exploring how you can take first steps to transform unjust structures, the Common Grace Aotearoa National Gathering is for you. This is a chance to come together as Christians who have a heart for social justice and transforming unjust structures to connect, be discipled and upskill together.

Being together for a weekend in beautiful whenua, next to a flowing river, is a really special way to engage and be inspired for the year of action ahead.

  • In November 2023, we hosted our inaugural National Gathering at Ngatiawa River Monastery. With over 70 of us from all ages together throughout the weekend, we had many opportunities to learn, engage, listen, kōrero, pray and eat kai together.

Members of our growing community contributed as speakers, leading workshops, prayer sessions, childcare and cooking beautiful food! Common Grace Aotearoa is powered by a whole community of people and this weekend was a great way to build connections across our growing movement.

  • At the 2024 National Gathering you can expect everything you’ve grown to love about the kaupapa of Common Grace Aotearoa! We’ll be having some wonderfully well thought through kōrero (conversation) about Climate, Economic and Te Tiriti Justice, as well as peace in Palestine. We really recommend coming for the full weekend if you can!

Check out the sessions and speakers announced so far here.

Our guest and in-house contributors will be providing seminars, workshops, bible studies, panels, along with prayer and worship, all have a depth of expertise and rich perspectives which makes this whole gathering so exciting to be putting on.

This year we are hoping the gathering can be bigger and better than last year, and adjusting capacity to hold more people means most attendees will be tenting festival style! If you need a tent to sleep in, or a mattress to sleep on – please get in touch with us on events@commongrace.nz and we’ll see how we can help!

All meals are provided for as part of your ticket.

For all the sessions, we have childcare available for children up to 12 years old. Youth will join us in the main programme.

We can’t wait to see what will bubble up and unfold in this Common Grace kaupapa [with you all] after this National Gathering!

  • The gathering is situated at Ngatiawa River Monastery, a contemporary monastic community of prayer and hospitality nestled in the Reikorangi valley surrounded by bush on the Kāpiti Coast. This is a 1 hour drive from central Wellington, and a 15 minute drive from Waikanae Train Station.

Learn more about the venue here.

  • We only seek to cover costs, and thankfully, we have been able to secure some sponsorship so that we can offer tickets to all at these subsidized prices below. Please reach out to us if cost is a barrier and you would really like to come. There are registrations available for the whole weekend, full day, and overnight (24 hours).

Prices vary for unwaged/student/waged/children + youth.

    • Full weekend adult (waged): $150

    • Full weekend adult (unwaged, student, concession): $100
